چکیده
This retrospective study was aimed to evaluate the clinical outcome and extent of correction tibial deformity by a radiological evaluation following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) combined with intra-articular bone resection, in patients arthritis ipsilateral malunited fractures. Fifteen (15 knees) severe extra-articular malunion tibia were treated using TKA resection. The deformities coronal plane 10 vara (mean 15°, range 9°-30°), 4 valgum 12°, 6°-20°), one double shaft. follow-up duration 84 months (24–240). At last follow-up, mean Knee Society function scores had improved, respectively ( p = 0.001 ). arc motion improved from 97° preoperatively 118.3° at id="M2"> < mechanical axis preoperative 15.5° 1.5° varus id="M3"> 0.013 Excluding patient malunion, angulations, 15° 2.6° id="M4"> 0.005 There no observed complications except for postoperative deep infection. In conclusion, our results indicated that resection is an effective procedure treatment (≤30° varus; ≤20° valgus).

Total knee arthroplasty following high tibial osteotomy - a radiological evaluation.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) following a closed wedge high tibial osteotomy (HTO). A total of 16 TKAs were performed in 16 pacients who had previously undergone a closed wedge (HTO) as a treatement for knee osteoarthritis. The radiographic results were evaluated with respect to the femurotibial angle (FTA), joint line height (JLH), tibia...

Intra-articular resection of bone with soft-tissue balancing and total knee replacement (TKR) has been described for the treatment of patients with severe osteoarthritis of the knee associated with an ipsilateral malunited femoral fracture. However, the extent to which deformity in the sagittal plane can be corrected has not been addressed. We treated 12 patients with severe arthritis of the kn...
متن کاملTibial Periprosthetic Fracture Combined with Tibial Stem Stress Fracture from Total Knee Arthroplasty
Total knee arthroplasty complications related to the prosthetic material are very rare, except for polyethylene wear. We report the case of a 58-year-old woman who came to the emergency service of our hospital with a periprosthetic tibial fracture (Mayo Clinic type I). Careful examination showed that this fracture was concomitantly associated with a tibial stem fatigue fracture. The prosthesis ...
متن کاملDoes a Previous High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO) Influence the Long-term Function or Survival of a Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)?
High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a well established technique for the treatment of medial osteoarthritis ofthe knee with varus malalignment. The outcome of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) after HTO remains uncertain. The aim of this paper is to revise the literature with the aim of answering the following question: Does a previous (HTO)influence the long-term function or survival of a TKA?. The sea...
